are online schools worth doing like university of phoenix and kaplan university ( online) good or any online?

I AM TRYING TO GET A DEGREE AND AND DONT WANT TO GET IN DEBT FOR NOTHING

I received my MBA from UOP. It has caused me no problems and has given me the credentials I need. It is a good school. However, here are things to consider.

The business school is only regionally accredited. If you believe you can pass a GMAT then go to another online school like Stanford. However, if you do not think you need the AASCB ( I hope the acronym is right), then UOP will be fine.

If you are over 22 and need a BA, I suggest you go to night school and a local traditional college which offers adult accelerated courses.

If you already have a BA from a traditional school and have a good work background, then a graduate diploma from UOP can really help you. In addition, if your town has a UOP campus, then that will help too.

I mention all of the above because those are things to consider before taking courses from for-profit schools like UOP or Kaplan. It depends on what you want in the outcome. For instance, some people need prestige and some people just need the degree. I just needed the degree and the knowledge. UOP gave me both. I hope this helps.

Did you major in Communication/Technical Writing? Have anyone attended Kaplan On line University?

I have a two year degree in Early Childhood Education. I am now 47 years old and want to age gracefully doing something different with an option of various doors. I am looking for an online school with this program of study in a BA. Kaplan Online University seen to be a good choice. What are some of the pros and cons to this major/minor? May I hear your comments on either or both of my questions? Thanks.

Don’t go to one of those for-profit online universities. See if your local state university offers the same degree program online. They almost certainly will, and it will be cheaper and better respected. If not, find a state university in another state.

As for communications/technical writing – technical writing mostly is likely to consist of writing manuals for consumer electronics products and the like. It is one of the stabler, better paid types of writing jobs you can get, but it might not be so interesting. Communications degrees are very common, and not terribly well respected, and are rarely useful, except for jobs where you just need a bachelor’s degree of some sort.

has anyone gotten a degree from phoenix university online?

They wouldn’t have much of a business if nobody had. I will tell you this, though. APUS (American Public University Systems) are getting a LOT of Phoenix’s students transferring to them. Their system is better, their classes a fraction of the cost, they’re fully accredited, and they offer degrees up to Masters.

From what I understand, the folks at Phoenix are hard to deal with.

Does a online degree from the university of phoenix say online degree on the diploma?

It is a traditional brick and mortar university with accreditation. It will not specify online on the degree, because it is an actual accredited degree not a paper mill or whatever it is these idiots call it these days. I attend, I make good grades. It does cost a pretty penny, but you learn a great deal. Those who say negative things about it, probably aren’t intelligent enough to survive through any college or university. BTW, I earned my associates from a brick and mortar school. The only thing I truly miss from the traditional school is being babied from my professor and talking to my buds. Don’t listen to other people. Just listen to your instinct. Good luck.
