Ashford University is regionally accredited by the NorthCentral Association. That’s the level of accreditation you should insist on with any program – online or classroom. The NorthCentral Association is the accreditor of all of the "normal" universities in that part of the country.

We can’t say "same as any" because you can’t pick any two out there and say they’re the same.

Harvard isn’t the same is West Florida for example. Ashford is nowhere near the class of Harvard.

USNews ranks them as "unranked school", that’s not very good for reputation enhancement.

There are a lot of options out there though and you should consider many before making a decision. Peterson’s is my favorite search tool for online programs. http://www.petersons.com/distancelearning/code/search.asp
