I was looking at the university of phoenix and US career institute and i need to do an online degree with no on-campus classes for a paralegal,if anyone can give me advice?? thanks!!
There are tons of online programs. I personally attended American Intercontinental Univ. and Capella University, and I have taught for various online schools over the last five years. All are accredited and solid programs. Online courses tend to vary in price, so we could say they are more expensive, but that is relative. Of course they are more expensive than a community college, but less expensive than Harvard. The price range varies.
The key is to find a program that is fully accredited. Is it worth it? YES. My career has boomed since my MBA at nearly 5 years ago. I am close to finishing my PhD through distance education, and I am at the job that I want. I know I wouldn’t be here without the education. If you are looking at work in the U.S., then you need a school that is accredited and recognized by the Dept of Ed. I can give more info on that later.
You should market yourself and not the degree or university. There are many traditional universities offering degrees that can be earned through online methods. Distance Learning Alliance has a list of these traditional online schools. Look at that if you are truly concerned with the name of the school. Good luck on your search!

I have a full-time job & a full-time life, so I don’t have the time to attend classes & endure a 4 year + long journey to recieve a degree. I understand that most Online programs take about half the time as actually attending class, but I want to know if the degrees obtained are just as credible.
As long as any college you earn your degree from is regionally accredited your degree would be recognized by potential employers and other academic institutions. That having been said not all online colleges are viewed the same (just as not all campus based colleges are viewed the same) by potential employers. Even within the same college the business school might have a better reputation than say the nursing school or vice versa.
It is difficult to say what school is the best (either online or campus) as there are a number of factors that need to be considered. What is more important is finding the best college for you. My biggest recommendation would be to contact a number schools to find the best fit for you and your needs (tuition, schedule, career services, employment opportunities, etc.).
This site has some good information on accredited online degree programs and a wide variety of colleges that offer them:

Good Luck!

I’m wanting to get an education degree, but don’t work in the school system.
You need to be employed, but not necessarily in the field you study! There are very few degrees at the U of P that require you to be working in that field – the only one, at the undergrad level, that I can think of is nursing. So to be an education major, you’re fine, just as you are.
Go ahead and contact them to discuss your situation. But don’t forget to check out the online (and part time, if that works for you) degree options available local to you. You may be surprised that some of your local state colleges and universities may offer this degree online, and if you can find a public college near you that does so, it’ll be your least expensive option.

I have some experience in the nursing field. I am a CNA at my local hospital. I do not have my RN. I was just wondering if there any colleges online that offer courses for people without their RN degree.
I don’t know of any. I’m going to school now to get an associates in nursing. There is a lot of clinical time involved at the hospital and a few hours of lab time a week.
Once you get your associates you can get your bachelors online. I have found a few programs like Penn State.

I am a Software Enginneer with B.E (Computer Science) degree. I would like to know about the institutes which provide Online MBA Degree. I have tried a few sites but coud not find much information about it. Any pointers ?
Make sure it’s through a legitimate, accredited university and not a diploma mill, because you’re likely to stumble upon those. I’d go here if I were you – http://www.princetonreview.com/mba/research/business_resources_online.asp – it has a list of the top online MBA programs..

Hello. I am ready to start my associates degree at the university of phoenix. I heard a lot of bad rap about the UoP but does it really matter where I go to since my first 2 years will be general knowledge?.
Also what other college do you recommend to take online classes?
Some people talk bad, some talk good. The responsibility of making decisions stays with you because in the end its your gain or loss.
What you need to check is;
is the the university accreditted?
How good is the syllabus? (Don’t go for any thing that seems easy because you will be wasting your time and money)
Do employers prefer other online unis?
Once you get the answers to these questions, you will be able to paint a picture for your self.
There are many other online colleges. Not all may offer the degree that you want.
Here are two websites;one was suggested to me and one I googled:

I am currently a senior in high school, and interested in getting a degree in paralegal. I’m not interested in going to school for more then two years. After some research, I decided to go one year full time to become a secretary and get an idea of what the working environment is like, and then continuing part time to get my degree as a paralegal. The problem is, every school I’ve found is a four-year college. If anyone has any sites where I could find schools, that’d be excellent. Also, would an online degree be comparative? Thanks so much for your help. : )
Don’t get an online degree. There are many programs that you can get a degree in (an Associate’s Degree) in paralegal studies.
Check with your local community college to see if they offer an associate’s degree program in paralegal studies.
You can also check out the ABA’s website of ABA approved paralegal programs here:
http://www.abanet.org/legalservices/paralegals/directory/
Just click on your state and find out which ones are available.
For example, I clicked on "California" and found some 4-year programs (offering certificates) but also found 2 year programs offering an associate’s degree.
See:
http://www.abanet.org/legalservices/paralegals/directory/ca.html#east
Community college is definitely the least expensive way to go! Plus, you can go part-time at night and get a job as a legal secretary by day (that way you’ll have an "in" at the firm you work at once you graduate from paralegal school).

college? What states would not accept this degree? I know, I know, who would want a nurse with an online degree but after looking at all the prerequisits on nursinglink.com, I realize to get a degree, without the hands on, my gosh at the phenominal amount of knowledge you receive! Its so intense all the material to learn… Maybe with an online degree, you can actually do clinicals onsite with a cna or med assist position… I’m sure they’re not idiots. There is such a nursing shortage right now…. Need your thoughts… especially from someone in the medical field.
I for 1, got my RN degree from excesior, and i absolutely love it! i feel they prepared me well, and i’m lovong being an RN.
That being said, you have to be either a paramedic or an LPN already to get into excelsiors RN program, and there is a clinical. It is test out, and it’s 3 days long.
Don’t EVER let anyone tell you that a RN that got their schooling online is a bad nurse. Excelsior is accredited and they make sure you know your stuff before you get out.
