Kaplan University probation officers?
I am curently attending Kaplan University Online, for my BS in Criminal Justice. I was wondering if anyone or anyone you know has graduated with this degree (or something like it) and become a probation officer/parole officer…
I have recently been hearing alot of neagive feedback about actually being execpted in a job b/c of my online degree.
Serious answers only please…
I do the hiring for our department, and I can honestly say that I would give much less consideration to someone with an on-line degree than I would to someone who attended classes on campus, participated in discussions in class, was active in extra-curricular activities, and completed internships and other job-training programs not available to on-line students…
While on-line degrees are certainly convenient, they pale in comparison to the experience gained by actually attending classes on a college campus…
I attend University of Phoenix for the same degree. These schools had issues a few years ago but i have heard nothing but good things about these type of schools. It depends what state you live in to meet the qualifications to be a probation/parole officer..
