is kaplan university online a well respected college when i actually try to get a job after i get my degrees?
or is it just as bad as university of phoenix?
Kaplann seems to be somewhat more respected, so I have heard, but really it comes down to your field and your competition. If your up against grads from Harvard, nowhere looks good.

Some employers will have issues with grads of any school that’s famous for being online or for profit. Doesn’t matter if it’s Kaplan or U of P.
You’d do better getting an online degree from a school that is famous for being "offline". Check out the online degrees from U Maryland, Penn State, UMass Amherst, Southern New Hampshire University, U Florida, Boston U, Northeastern, Worcester Polytechnic, the SUNYs (google SUNY Online), the Cal States, U Nebraska, Ball State, Tiffin U, etc. In fact, check to see if any colleges local to you offer online degrees. If they do, there will be no way for any employer to be able to tell, from your resume, that you did your degree online versus in person.
